car dealers

I was at a Ford Dealer this week and had my mind set on a car that I have always wanted.  As I pulled up, I looked around to see if they had exactly what I was looking for.  When I got out of my car, nobody came over to help so I decided to walk around anyway.  The cars were very dirty and they had all of the cars mixed up so I had to walk all over the lot in the sun to try to pick out a car.   I go frustrated and was about to leave but a salesman walked to me and asked if I needed help.  I told him what I wanted so he told me to go inside and he will bring it up to me in a few minutes. 30 Mins later, he brought the clean car that I asked for to me.  I ended up buying the car but it made me wonder how much business do they do with they current way that they are set up.  Would putting all of the same cars together help increase sales?  Would having the cars clean at all times help?  I think that the main thing that should change is customer service.  Having someone meet every customer as soon as they pull up would make someone feel important.
